about me

Hello, I’m Kate, Nottingham lass born and bred and this is my family; my husband Gav and my daughter’s, Kitty and Nancy.

After a varied and interesting career over the last 20 years, I have worked as a PA for smaller, family owned businesses and most recently for a multinational corporate as well as running our family owned local produce restaurant. Whilst all of it has been fun and rewarding, I’ve now decided it’s time to leave the rat race behind and to put my efforts into making a difference.

It’s becoming so obvious that things need to change to make this planet a better place.  I’m considerably behind in beginning my journey to caring for the world in the way it deserves, but I’m trying my best.  There are still some products I can’t live without that are encased in plastic, but part of my mission is to find alternatives.  As a parent, I have a vision for the kind of world I want my children to grow up in and the Good Weigh will help to make that a reality.

This new venture will make it easier for you to join me by making some small steps to make a big difference to the environment and a community we can be proud of.  Zero waste shopping might seem like a bit of a faff, or time consuming, but by making it simple, we can work together in creating a healthier planet.

By choosing to shop some or all your everyday groceries at the Good Weigh you are casting a vote for the kind of world you wish to live in.  Surely, we all want that world to be sustainable, cleaner and thriving for our children and future generations.
